Governor Gavin Newsom is making waves again, but this time it is with merchandise. The California governor launched an online store called The Patriot Store, complete with cheeky merchandise that includes mugs, hats, and tees reading “Make America Gavin Again.”
This comes as part of Newsom’s larger campaign to troll Donald Trump on social media. While Trump has his Truth Social platform, Newsom’s Twitter and Instagram feeds are becoming battlegrounds for political jabs. He even took Michelle Obama’s famous quote and flipped it, saying, “When they go low, we go low.”
Democrats are eating it up. Republicans, however, are calling his tactics unprofessional. Either way, Newsom seems to be hitting a nerve. His name has popped up in discussions about possible future presidential runs, and this campaign could be a strategy to build visibility while entertaining his political base.
