Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is making headlines again after a disturbing report claimed he was attacked inside the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. According to one of his close friends, Diddy woke up with a knife pressed to his throat by another inmate. It's unclear whether he fought off the attacker or if guards stepped in—but the incident has raised major concerns about his safety behind bars. Diddy is currently serving a 50-month federal sentence.
As the internet reacted to the prison incident, TMZ reported that President Trump was “vacillating” on whether or not to grant clemency to Diddy. However, the White House quickly shut that down, calling the report “fake news.” In a statement to NBC News, a White House official said:
“There is zero truth to the TMZ report, which we would’ve gladly explained had they reached out before running their fake news. The president, not anonymous sources, is the final decider on pardons and commutations.”
TMZ stood by their story, with spokesperson Casey Carver insisting their sources were solid.
As of now, there’s no official word from Diddy’s legal team, but online conversations continue to swirl about his safety, sentencing, and whether or not a presidential pardon is even on the table.
