Authorities in Virginia were called to a liquor store break-in, but what they found was not a typical suspect. According to USA Today, the intruder was a raccoon who managed to get into the store, tear into alcohol stock, and then pass out in the bathroom.
The Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter said staff found the animal unconscious after what they described as a wild night of tasting. Officials safely captured the raccoon and transported it to a shelter for observation. After a few hours of sleep and no injuries aside from what they joked was a likely hangover, the raccoon was returned to the wild.
The bizarre incident has gone viral across social media, with users cracking jokes about the raccoon’s brand preferences and the fact that it drank enough to need a recovery nap.
