The 57th NAACP Image Awards celebrated a major night for film, music, and culture, and the biggest winner was Ryan Coogler’s film Sinners.
The project walked away with an impressive 13 awards across the multi night ceremony, including the top honor for Outstanding Motion Picture. The success of the film continues to highlight Ryan Coogler’s influence in Hollywood as a director and producer who consistently tells powerful stories.
Actor Michael B. Jordan also had a huge night. He won Outstanding Actor for his role in Sinners and was also named Entertainer of the Year. Jordan has continued to build an incredible career that spans film, television, and producing.
Music stars also took home major awards during the ceremony. Cardi B won Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Album for Am I the Drama?, and Outstanding Hip Hop Song for her track “ErrTime.”
Kendrick Lamar added to his already impressive list of awards by winning Outstanding Male Artist and Outstanding Music Video for his song “Luther,” which features SZA.
