Kodak Black's attorney alleges police in Orlando are targeting the rapper after he was arrested for drug trafficking charges.

Shortly after the news broke on Thursday, May 7, The Breakfast Club's Loren LoRosa reported that 'Yak's lawyer, Bradford Cohen, was told by police that his client's fingerprints were not found on the bottle of cough syrup they tested. The bottle was discovered inside a pink bag located in one of the vehicles Orlando police searched back in November 2025. Even though his prints were on the bottle, Cohen said they're still moving forward with the charges based on a single photo.

According to the arrest affidavit obtained by TMZ, police discovered a pink Louis Vuitton bag with MDMA, $37,000 in cash, and a bottle of cough syrup. The bag also had a gun-shaped lighter, scissors and several documents baring Kodak Black's legal name, Bill Kapri. Police say they obtained a photo of Kodak Black with the bag that was shot a week before the search was conducted.

At the time, no one the police searched with the two vehicles claimed the pink bag. A gun was also discovered in the backseat, but it's not clear who it belongs to. Kodak Black wasn't in the vicinity at the time of the search, so he was not arrested, but they allege the rapper attempted to convince police to return the money. A few months after the run-in, police received a report last month that determined the MDMA that was found weighed 25.34 grams, which exceeds the 14-gram threshold to be considered trafficking.

Bradford Cohen previously said the basis of the case is "weak," and argued that anyone could have purchased the bag in question. He vows to fight the charges in court.
