Vans has responded to the recent comparisons between Pharrell Williams' new Louis Vuitton Combi sneaker and their classic Authentic silhouette. Pharrell introduced the Combi sneaker ahead of Louis Vuitton's men's spring 2027 show in Paris, showcasing a design that bears a striking resemblance to the iconic Vans Authentic. The Combi features a low-profile silhouette, a vulcanized sole, and a striped midsole, elements reminiscent of the Vans Authentic, which debuted in 1966.

Vans didn't shy away from the comparisons. After Pharrell unveiled the sneaker, the brand jumped into the conversation by commenting "ohhhh bet" on his Instagram post. As screenshots of the comment spread across social media, Vans further fueled the discussion by sharing a promotional image for its red Authentic silhouette. Rather than ignore the chatter, the company appeared to embrace the viral moment.
