Nearly six weeks after the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells, three of the friends who were with him on Horn Island are speaking publicly about the tragedy and the intense scrutiny they have faced online.
Warren Hudson, Jax Pitalo and Morgan Seymour sat down with Brandon Tatum on The Officer Tatum Show to discuss Nolan’s death and the allegations that have circulated on social media. During the interview, Jax criticized Nolan’s mother, Christine Wonsley, saying he believes her early social media posts identifying the group contributed to the backlash against them. He also said he believes the story has been “blown out of proportion.”
The three friends also expressed regret about going to Horn Island on the Fourth of July. Warren said he wishes they had never gone, adding that he believes Nolan would still be alive if they had stayed home. They continue to deny having any involvement in Nolan’s death.
Nolan disappeared on July 4 and was found near the Horn Island shoreline two days later. As of this week, authorities have not publicly announced an official cause or manner of death. Nolan’s family continues pursuing answers through its own investigation.
The case continues to generate strong reactions online as Nolan’s family, friends and supporters wait for more answers.
