Megan Thee Stallion is getting candid about what it really feels like to live your life in the public eye.
During a recent episode of Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson’s IMO podcast, Megan described being herself as a “rollercoaster.” Some days she feels like she is on top of the world, while other days the constant opinions and criticism make her want to hide away from everyone.
The Houston rapper has experienced major highs and devastating lows in front of the public, including the loss of her mother, friendship changes, legal battles and intense scrutiny on social media. Megan said that after her mother died in 2019, she still felt pressure to continue being “Megan Thee Stallion” while privately trying to figure out how to grieve.
These days, she is putting stronger boundaries in place. Megan said she has limited the social media apps on her phone and is learning that strength does not always mean pretending everything is okay.
She has also changed the way she prays, focusing more on gratitude instead of only asking for what she wants next.
It raises an interesting question: When you are famous, does being in the public eye mean your appearance, relationships and personal decisions automatically become everybody’s business?
