Nick Cannon is switching things up for the next season of Wild ’N Out.
The long-running comedy and hip-hop series is leaving its traditional studio format behind and taking the show on the road. Instead of filming an entire season in one studio, producers plan to collect footage from live shows in cities across the country.
Cities being targeted include New York, Miami, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta and Memphis. Local casting calls are also expected to give aspiring comedians, rappers and performers the chance to compete for a spot in their city’s live show.
The traveling format could also mean more surprise appearances from local celebrities, athletes and entertainers depending on the city.
Wild ’N Out has been blending improv comedy, freestyle battles and celebrity appearances since Nick Cannon launched the show in 2005. The new format gives fans an opportunity to experience the show live while potentially introducing fresh talent from across the country.
