We’re sending prayers and well wishes to Lionel Richie after the music legend was hospitalized following a recent performance in St. Louis.
The 77-year-old singer performed at The Muny on Saturday, August 29, as part of his ongoing tour with Earth, Wind & Fire. During the closing performance of “All Night Long,” Richie reportedly asked for a stool so he could sit down. He later checked into a local hospital for evaluation.
A source close to Richie’s tour told Rolling Stone that he is doing okay, though specific details about what led to his hospitalization have not been released. Other reports said the hospital visit was precautionary and that doctors were looking into possible dehydration.
This is not Richie’s first health scare on his current tour. In June, he ended a concert in St. Paul, Minnesota, early after experiencing dizziness. He returned to the stage several days later.
As of now, it has not been officially announced whether any upcoming concerts will be postponed. Richie’s next scheduled performance is later in September.
Get well soon, Lionel Richie!
