Shelby Blackstock and his wife, Marissa Blackstock, are “beyond excited” to welcome Baby No. 1 later this year.
The parents-to-be announced Marissa’s pregnancy on Instagram on Tuesday evening (April 14). Shelby and Marissa shared sweet, Disney-themed photos set to “You’ll Be in My Heart,” a beloved ballad from the Tarzan soundtrack, to share that their baby boy would make his arrival this fall. Marissa, who previously shared updates in her IVF journey, wrote in the caption: “Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October. See ya real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you! 🤟🏼”
The pregnancy announcement quickly garnered messages congratulating the growing Blackstock family, including from artists Emily Ann Roberts and Maggie Rose, plus Reba McEntire’s fellow Reba stars Melissa Peterman and JoAnna Garcia Swisher, among hundreds of others.
McEntire, who recently celebrated her 71st birthday, shares son Shelby, 36, with ex-husband Narvel Blackstock, 69. McEntire and Narvel were married from 1989 to 2015. The legendary country star is now engaged to Happy’s Place co-star Rex Linn, 69. They’ve been dating since 2020.
Shelby and Marissa are the latest couple in the country music community to announce a baby on the way in 2026. Others include Mitchell Tenpenny and Meghan Patrick, Emmy Russell (former American idol contestant and granddaughter of late legend Loretta Lynn), Drew Baldridge and more.
